This is a quick-n-dirty port to Mac OS X Server. I have modified
the 0.80 Rhapsody DR2 version's code base to use NSSound instead of
the SoundKit. Expect to see future versions that are more refined
and easier to install.

This is a beta version, if even that. Perhaps more of an alpha.
The game play should be very stable, though, so that's why I am
making it available. Here's some of the key features:

Much faster than other MineSweeper clones for NEXTSTEP.
Compiled fat.
Converted to OPENSTEP.
Source code is (well, will be) available. (When the game is
finished I will release the source as a GameKit example,
    like PacMan is already.)
Extra features such as hints and multi-clicks.
Nicer graphics.
Better sound handling.

Everything works like the old Hunter game that's been out there
for ages. (Enable and use the right mouse button for flagging
where the mines are or use an option-click [alt-click], use a
command-click to expose neighboring free spots.)

The new features work like this:

Hints--you get two hints per game, but for every 150 safe squares
you uncover you get another hint added. To use a hint, control-
click on a square. The nearest mine will be highlighted with a
flag for you. This allows you to avoid those situations where
there are two places a bomb could be--and either one would work...
But use these sparingly or you'll run out!

Multi-clicks. When you command click on an uncovered square, it
exposes the squares around it, like in the original NEXTSTEP
Hunter. But in this version, if you double click, it is like
clicking on every exposed square. Thus, you can lay flags (alt-
click or right mouse button click) everywhere you know there's a
bomb, double click, and pow a whole bunch of squares will all
uncover at once.

Those are the main things to note. As of yet there are two important
features not yet implemented:

(1) High Scores. This will come pretty soon...waiting on the
     new GameKit...

(2) Other sizes of playing fields. Right now you're stuck with
the size you get at launch, but in the future it will be
configurable including the standard beginner, intermediate,
and expert sizes the other sizes games support.

(3) New sounds. I'm not 100% sure what I'll use yet, but they
will be good. After all, I need to use my Digital Ears for
     something, right? :-)

(4) I need to create online help pages and a Preferences panel.
The Controls panel is a temporary hack so you can adjust the
     game engine's parameters.

Any comments and suggestions about the game are welcome.

This game is freeware. Of course, that also means you get no
support. If you don't like it, don't play it. If you do like
it and want to send me money to show your appreciation, that is
certainly welcome but by no means required. Any money that is
sent on behalf of MineHunter will be used to support further
development of the game. I'll keep tweaking it anyway, but if
people like it enough to support the development, the tweaks
will happen sooner than later. I'm using this policy with other
games I'll be releasing in the future to determine which are
the most popular--and use that to prioritize the order in which
they get time slices from me. So if you really, really like
a particular game, let me know! :-)
